GST-Compliant Pharmacy Billing Software

One step from your invoices to a ready GSTR-1: PharmaBill exports a portal-ready JSON file, or the exact multi-sheet Excel workbook the GSTN Returns Offline Tool imports — no re-typing. Updated for the GST 2.0 rates on medicines (0%, 5% and 18%) in force since 22 September 2025.

One-Step GSTR-1 Export — JSON or Excel

Your month of invoices becomes a portal-ready return in one click. No manual data entry.

  1. 01

    Export

One click in PharmaBill turns the month of invoices into a validated GSTR-1 file — Excel workbook or portal-ready JSON.

  2. 02

    Upload

Upload the JSON on the GST portal (or open the Excel in the GSTN Returns Offline Tool first, if you prefer).

  3. 03

    File

Preview, submit and file with EVC or DSC. Keep the acknowledgement.

  • b2cs — counter sales
  • b2b — business sales
  • hsn — product summary
  • cdnr / cdnur — returns
  • exemp — exempt income
  • doc — bill numbering

The only work left for you is the GST portal's own upload and sign-off — the part no software can do for you without a GST Suvidha Provider connection.

Updated for GST 2.0 Rates on Medicines

The 12% slab is gone. Is your item master?

  • From 22 September 2025 most medicines and formulations (HSN 3003/3004) moved from 12% to 5%.
  • 36 life-saving drugs are now nil-rated (33 moved from 12%, 3 from 5%).
  • The remaining slabs a pharmacy uses are 0%, 5% and 18% — check every item against its HSN and the current rate notification.
  • HSN Bulk Update moves every old 12% item to the right rate in one pass, so no counter bill goes out at a removed rate.
  • Old stock with a pre-revision MRP: GST is charged at the rate on the date of sale, and the reduced tax should reach the customer.

The Tax Splits Itself

Same state or another — the right tax on every line, automatically.

Medicine sale value₹1,000.00
Customer pays (5% slab — most medicines since 22 Sep 2025)₹1,050.00

In your own state the 5% splits in two equal halves: 2.5% CGST to the Centre and 2.5% SGST to the State.

Every item keeps its own rate (0%, 5% or 18%) — the software never averages or guesses.

HSN Chapter 30 Compliance

Every drug mapped to its HSN code.

Items map to HSN codes (3003, 3004 and beyond) with mandatory HSN validation at item creation — an item simply cannot enter your master without one. Since 2025 the GST portal splits the HSN summary (Table 12) into separate B2B and B2C tabs and only accepts HSN codes picked from its list, so a clean, correct item master matters more than ever.

Input Tax Credit (ITC) Register

Your GSTR-3B head start.

Tracks input GST paid on wholesale purchases with supplier-wise and slab-wise breakdowns — the numbers you need to reconcile against GSTR-2B and the Invoice Management System (IMS) on the portal before filing GSTR-3B.

Credit Notes & Sales Returns

Reverse tax handled automatically.

Returned medicines generate credit notes with automatic reverse tax calculation, flowing into the cdnr/cdnur sheets of your GSTR-1 export. Returns stop being a filing headache.

Healthcare GST Exemption Engine

The rules for hospitals with attached pharmacies — encoded.

  • Clinical diagnostics (SAC 999316): auto-exempt.
  • Hospital consultations and nursing: auto-exempt.
  • ICU/CCU/NICU room charges: always 0%, regardless of amount.
  • Room rent ≤ ₹5,000/day: 0% exempt. > ₹5,000/day: 5% on the full amount without ITC.
  • Medicines for in-patients: medicines and consumables used in treating an admitted patient are generally part of the exempt healthcare service (CBIC Circular 32/06/2018-GST); counter sales to out-patients and walk-in customers carry normal medicine GST. Set this up with your CA during onboarding.

Margin Safety Warnings & Document Sequence Summary

The two things that trigger GST notices — prevented.

  • Margin safety warnings during GRN entry flag when purchase price + GST approaches the retail MRP — negative-margin inventory cannot slip in when distributors change pricing.
  • Document sequence summary (doc sheet) auto-generates invoice number ranges, totals, cancelled invoices and credit note sequences — the most-missed schedule in manual filing.
