Adding suppliers and distributor details
Supplier masters power your POs, GRNs and ITC register. Capture GSTIN here so purchase input tax is recorded correctly.
Step by Step
- Open Masters → Suppliers → New.
- Enter firm name, GSTIN, drug license and contact details.
- Set default payment terms and credit period.
- These details auto-fill on every PO and GRN.
Why Supplier GSTIN Matters
The supplier’s GSTIN is how purchases appear in your ITC register and how you match them against GSTR-2B on the GST portal. A missing or wrong GSTIN means input tax credit you cannot match.
What to Record
- Firm name exactly as on their invoice, GSTIN and state.
- Drug licence number (useful for inspections and recalls).
- Contact person, phone, payment terms and credit days.
FAQ
- Can one supplier have two GSTINs? If a distributor has branches in two states, add each branch as a separate supplier with its own GSTIN.
- Do I need the supplier’s drug licence number? It is good practice: it helps in Drug Inspector visits and recall paperwork.
