First-time setup: Organization, Branch and GSTIN
Your Organization is the legal entity, a Branch is a physical outlet. Both appear on invoices and GST exports — get them right first.
Step by Step
- Go to Settings → Organization and enter your legal name, address and logo.
- Add your GSTIN — validated for format before saving.
- Add a Branch with its own drug license numbers, address and print profile.
- For chains: add more branches under the same Organization, each with its own GSTIN.
Before You Start
- Organization = your legal business (name, PAN-linked GSTIN, registered address).
- Branch = a physical shop, with its own drug licence numbers, address and bill layout.
- Have your GSTIN certificate and drug licence copies in front of you so details match exactly.
Why It Matters
Everything printed on your bills — legal name, GSTIN, address, drug licence numbers — comes from these screens, and so does the GSTIN in your GSTR-1 file. The state code in your GSTIN (the first two digits) also decides whether a sale is CGST + SGST or IGST.
FAQ
- I have two shops with different GSTINs. How do I set them up? Add each shop as a branch with its own GSTIN. Each GSTIN files its own GSTR-1.
- Can I change the shop address later? Yes. Update it in the branch settings; new bills use the new address and old bills keep the address they were printed with.
