Creating a discharge invoice
One consolidated, itemised invoice with the correct exempt/taxable split.
Step by Step
- Open the admission → Discharge.
- Review all posted charges, pharmacy consumption and services.
- Adjust TPA/insurance and co-pay portions if applicable.
- Generate the invoice — one document, all departments, correct taxes.
Before You Discharge
- Check that all room days, doctor visits, procedures and lab tests are posted.
- Check pharmacy issues against the ward’s records.
- For cashless patients, confirm the approved amount and co-pay with the TPA.
What the Invoice Shows
One consolidated invoice with every service itemised, exempt and taxable lines shown separately, GST totalled, and — for insured patients — the TPA portion and the amount the family pays. A clear, itemised bill also speeds up insurance settlement.
FAQ
- Are medicines used during the stay taxed? Medicines and consumables used in treating an in-patient are generally part of the exempt healthcare service; confirm your billing structure with your CA.
- Can I discharge with a balance due? Yes. Record the balance against the patient and collect it later.
