Registering a patient with UHID
UHID is the permanent patient identity linking pharmacy, lab and hospital history.
Step by Step
- Open Hospital → Patients → New.
- Enter demographics, emergency contact and insurance info.
- A UHID is generated automatically.
- Every purchase, test and admission links back to this UHID.
Why a UHID
The UHID (unique health ID) is the patient’s permanent number in your hospital. Every pharmacy bill, lab test, OPD visit and admission links to it, so you can see a patient’s full history and avoid duplicate records.
Good Practice
- Search by phone number before registering — the patient may already exist.
- Record an emergency contact and, for insured patients, the insurer and policy number.
- Print the UHID on the patient’s file and receipts.
Patient registration is part of the Clinic and Hospital plans.
FAQ
- Can two family members share a phone number? Yes. Each person gets their own UHID; the phone number can be the same.
- Can I correct a patient’s details later? Yes. Changes are recorded in the audit log.
