How to bill a walk-in customer (retail B2C)
The standard counter loop: F2 → search → Enter → F10. B2C is the default mode — no buyer GSTIN needed.
Step by Step
- Press F2 to start a sale (B2C is default).
- Type the medicine name or scan the barcode; press Enter to add.
- Set quantity or switch the line to Loose mode.
- Press F10, take payment (Cash/UPI/Card/Credit split allowed) and the bill prints silently.
The Keyboard Loop
F2 to search → type or scan → Enter to add → adjust quantity or switch to Loose → F10 to take payment and print. With practice, a 5-item bill takes well under a minute without touching the mouse.
Good to Know
- The batch is picked automatically — earliest expiry first (FEFO). Staff can override it; the override is logged.
- Adding a phone number links the bill to the customer’s history, which helps with refills.
- For Schedule H1 drugs, the doctor (F9) and a pharmacist login are required before the bill can be saved.
- The selling price can never go above the printed MRP.
FAQ
- Does a walk-in customer need a name? No. "Walk-in Customer" is filled in by default; add a phone number if you want their purchase history.
- How is GST shown on a retail bill? Each line keeps its own rate, and the bill summary shows CGST and SGST separately (IGST for inter-state supplies).
